What's the real reason behind the growth in ADHD and Autism diagnoses in older women? And if medical diagnosis isn't the answer for us crones, what is?
Thanks so much lovely for taking the time to read and comment too! Def going to look into best way to do an audio version! If you've got any thoughts on a quick way of doing this without having to do studio/buy expensive equipment - any recommendations appreciated! xxx
So yeah, my friend just records it on her phone. She does have an i-phone, mind. Her substack is How to go Home by Eleanor Robbins, if you want to check out the quality (and her excellent writting).
would you consider adding voice recordings or your writing? I love the first 3rd but combo of my adhd and dyslexia and trying to cut down on screen time mean I struggle to get through even good writing about stuff ~i'm inteested in!
Hi there Jessica, thanks so much for battling through the first third! ha ha you raise an excellent point 🙏- most of us with ADHD/Dyslexia were probably unlikely to read through a post that long and an audio version would be a brilliant idea! I guess my worry is time and production quality - do you think it would be okay to record a version on my phone and share that, even if it includes a few stumbles? It takes me a month to write a piece due to my difficulties, so I know if i was to do an audio version in addition, I'd have to tell myself it would be okay if it wasn't 100% perfect and not 100% professional production quality - would that still be something you'd listen to do you rek? If so, I will definately give it a go! 😘 xxx
Thanks for replying! I have a friend who has a substack who adds an audio version and shes defo not techy but it sounds pretty good, I'll ask how she does it. I think she just does it on her phone and doesnt edit mistakes. I can deal with mistakes and repeated words etc but honestly, echoey, tinny audio is a bit of a drag. But these days you dont need much. Even just recording under a duvet can make all the difference to sound quality! You can get tiny mics that attach to you phone. Sorry, didn't mean to add pressure, but basically would love to lsiten!
Hallelujah Sister! So many lessons in this great piece. You carry on being fantastic, you’re good medicine in your self. Lots of love from a happy Dyspraxic xxx
