What is ‘Tits to the Wind?’
‘Tits to the Wind’ is Crone Club’s e-magazine for anyone who wants to:
👉 Feel more positive about menopause and getting older as a woman.
👉 Share a story about the joy and wisdom that can come in our ‘third act’.
👉 Be inspired by positive content, cool crone businesses and projects, and to celebrate and learn from older, inspirational women.
👉 Connect, collaborate and make mischief with like-minded folk and projects to help change the narrative of female ageing and menopause.
If you are working in the healthy ageing, creative or menopause space and are aligned with the spirit of the Crone Club, we’d love to hear from you so we can share and celebrate your work with our members. What is Crone Club?
Crone Club started out a few years ago as a small private Facebook group of menopausal-mischief-making-mates, looking to find some joy in getting older and ‘considerately cheer each other on’ through the menopause.
We now have over 600 members in the private Facebook group, and we’ve run a few Crone Club events too, such as the Crone Camp experiment and the Crone Human Library with the University of Sheffield.
Coming up in 22 February 2025 is CroneLines, our first national get together to celebrate cronehood and making it this far! Find out more and get your tickets here: www.croneclub.org/cronelines
The aim of Crone Club is to connect younger women with older women to:
🥳 CELEBRATE the joy and wisdom of older women in all their fierce, mischievous forms - their achievements, their beauty, their courage, their creativity, their businesses, their artwork, their poetry.
🙌 CONNECT, LEARN AND CONSIDERATELY CHEER EACH OTHER ON IN A SPIRIT OF SISTERHOOD - learn from older women (bonifide ‘crones’), from menopausal mid-lifers (‘crones-in-training’), and from younger women (curious maidens and mothers).
👊🏽 COLLABORATE, CREATE and MAKE MISCHIEF with like-minded women of all ages from ‘Gone Croning’ events, to opportunities for creative crone collaborations.
🤓 Get CURIOUS about your next stage and make positive decisions about your ‘third act’ - what do you want to leave behind? What do you want to do/be/feel? Who and where do you want to spend your time?

Why become a paid subscriber?
(I will now switch to the third person while I squirm!)
Juzza writes and edits Tits to the Wind each month, runs the Crone Club Private Members Facebook Group, the @Crone_Club_Reclaiming_Crone Instagram, manages and pays for the Crone Club website, organises monthly meet ups in Sheffield and online, and sets up and runs events such as the CroneLines disco and the Crone Human Library.
The only financial payment she currently receives for doing all the above is the kind donations of paid subscribers of Tits to the Wind.
Juzza is autistic with ADHD and associated struggles including dyslexia, dyscalculia and poor executive function. She can’t do spreadsheets, tell the time, and struggles to organise her time, manage administration or money (life or business), often forgets to eat, and can’t host a social event without taking days, sometimes weeks/months, to recover.
This makes everything harder, and organising and writing stuff take longer. One edition of Tits to the Wind, for example, can take her up to three weeks to write.
Despite these difficulties, last year she decided to go for it full time to get Crone Club and Tits to the Wind out to help more people, with a dream of hopefully generating enough income to get by.
Paid subscribers of Tits to the Wind are currently her only income, which with the 100 paid subscribers currently, when Substack and Stripe has taken its percentage, currently equates to a whopping salary of around £200 a month to live on and deliver ALL crone club activities.
Hard to live on n’est pas.
This year, she’s got onto the School for Social Entrepreneurs programme in Manchester to give the ball a good kick and see if there’s a way of turning this into a social enterprise with a living wage.
In the meantime, your ongoing support as a paid subscriber isn’t just a nice thing to do, it genuinely keeps Juzza alive which means she can keep Crone Club and all the associated activities going. So THANK YOU!
